George of the Jungle Kicks Off Summer Premieres on TELETOON

TELETOON in Canada unveils six brand new shows launching this July, including the world premiere of the new GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE animated TV series, as well as the animated reality show, TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND, IGGY ARBUCKLE and BAKUGAN. On Friday, June 29, 2007, viewers may catch a special sneak-peek of four of the new summer shows beginning at 4:00 pm.

TELETOONâs special summer programming block airs weekday mornings 8-11:00 am.

GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE, an original TELETOON production produced with Studio B Prods. and Classic Media, starts up officially July 2 at 8:00 am. The undisputed king of the jungle, George and his friends, including his best friend, Ape the ape. and his faithful elephant, Shep, get up to misadventures and monkey business in the jungle Mbebwe. Forty years since his first incarnation, viewers may catch the new GEORGE also on Saturdays at 11:00 am and Monday to Thursday at 4:30 pm.

IGGY ARBUCKLE sees its Canadian premiere July 2 at 8:30 am. Audiences may meet Iggy Arbuckle, the park ranger pig with an enormous appetite for adventure. Straight from the comic strip in National Geographic Kids, Iggy is the founding member of the Pig Scouts, an organization dedicated to charting and protecting the vast Kookamunga National Park. He and his beaver pal Jiggers go to extraordinary and sometimes dangerous lengths to explore the park they love and give audiences a unique way to learn about nature. IGGY ARBUCKLE is produced by Blueprint Ent, and National Geographic Kidsâ programming and production. It airs Monday to Friday at 8:30 am, as well as Monday to Thursday at 4:00 pm and Saturdays at 11:30 am.

COCONUT FREDâS FRUIT SALAD ISLAND makes its Canadian premiere July 2 at 10:00 am. Taking viewers on a high energy trip to the silliest place in the Seven Seas, Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island follows the high-jinks of a hairy coconut and his friends, including twin bananas that love to give wedgies, a rule-revering watermelon and a scared little cherry. From Warner Bros. Animation, COCONUT FRED'S FRUIT SALAD ISLAND is 30-minute comedy/adventure airing Monday to Friday at 10:00 am and Saturdays at 7:00 am.

Animated Reality TV show, TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND, launches on Sunday, July 8 at 8:00 pm with a special two-episode, premiere. Twenty-two teens are sent to the oldest, most beat up, bug-infested summer camp in Northern Ontario where they must endure a summer of leaky cabins, foul food and increasingly insane challenges in order to win and avoid walking the dock of shame. TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND is an original TELETOON production produced with Fresh Animation and airs on Thursdays and Sundays at 8:30 pm.

Battles are fought and games won in BAKUGAN, the newest, action game anime series coming to TELETOON on Sunday, July 8 at 10:30 am. Join Dan and his friends as they battle their Bakugan Brawlers to protect the parallel world Vestroia and ultimately save Earth from destruction. BAKUGAN is produced by TMS Ent. Ltd. and Japan Vistec Inc. and is co-produced by SEGA Toys Ltd., Spin Master Ltd., Nelvana Enterprises Inc. Japan Vistec Inc. & SEGA Corp. The show airs Sunday mornings at 10:30 am and on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm.

THE CHOP SOCKY CHOOKS karate-kick their way on to TELETOON on Sunday, July 8 at 6:30 pm. A crack team of Kung Fu Chickens working undercover to combat their arch-enemy, Dr Wasabi and his monstrous schemes for world domination, this trio of super-cool heroes dedicate their lives to defending the citizens of Wasabi World, the world's biggest shopping mall. Aardmanâs Animations' first all CGI series, CHOP SOCKY CHOOKS is an original TELETOON production produced in association with Aardman Animations and Decode Ent. The CHOOKS will also air on The Spin Cycle on June 29 and during its regular timeslot on Sundays at 8:00 am and 6:30 pm, plus Fridays at 7:00 pm.
