John Geoghegan joins LucasArts, a leading developer and publisher of entertainment software for videogame consoles, computers and the Internet, as vp marketing.

Geoghegan is a veteran marketing exec with nearly 20 years of experience creating and managing marketing, communications and advertising campaigns and brand-building programs for such globally known companies as Sun Microsystems, Procter & Gamble, Sprint, Nestle, British Airways, Dupont and Chevron.

"The global outlook and creative sensibilities that John has developed in his 20 years in advertising and marketing will be enormously influential for LucasArts as we expand our business," said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. "Our recent hits like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Galaxies have been a great start, and upcoming powerhouses like Star Wars Battlefront and Mercenaries are going to take us to the next level. John's going to be an integral member of the team that helps get us there."

Geoghegan was president of the San Francisco offices of Hill Holliday, an integrated marketing services agency, where he oversaw a client list that included State Farm Insurance, 24 Hour Fitness Clubs and Silicon Graphics Inc. Previously, Geoghegan was ceo/president of CareGuide Inc., an Internet startup company that was sold to Coordinated Care Solutions in 2002.
