GD Multimedia Makes NATPE Debut With Going Wild

GD Multimedia, a recently launched global distribution company, will attend NATPE 2007 for the first time with a brand new animated comedic adventure series, GOING WILD, available to U.S. and international broadcasters.

GOING WILD is the first of three animated television series produced by one of Japan's top new animation studios, Tokyo Kids, which will be distributed in the U.S. and Europe by GD Multimedia. The company will also have first look rights for future productions by Tokyo Kids. Animated in a style that incorporates the best of LOONEY TUNES and anime, GOING WILD, which targets kids 6-11, is a major ratings hit on Japan's cable and satellite channel Kids Station.

"We are thrilled to attend NATPE for the first time with a hit property from one of the hottest new animation houses," states Dong Chung, coo, GD Multimedia. "GOING WILD is both entertaining and informative, and we have no doubt the series will be an equal hit in the U.S. and European markets. We look forward to a longstanding relationship with Tokyo Kids as we continue to bring their quality animated programming to broadcasters worldwide."

"We are excited to partner with GD Multimedia to bring a unique style of animated programming to young television audiences in the U.S. and Europe," comments Kengo Kimura, president, Tokyo Kids Co. Ltd. "GOING WILD has been a huge success for us in Japan, and our collaboration with the GD Multimedia team allows us to expand our reach beyond Asia to offer new and innovative children's programming to leading broadcasters around the world."

The environmentally friendly series follows a group of city kids who are suddenly transplanted to the country where they meet an eclectic group of country kids who ultimately teach them about nature and themselves. For example, when the local dentist/mad scientist invents a solar battery that flies, the kids inadvertently trample the garden of their neighbor in their pursuit of the elusive battery. The kids are forced to replant the garden, and in the process, they discover the value of the fruits and vegetables they are growing while sharing many laughs and adventures.

Recently launched, GD Multimedia is headed by ceo Gordon Smith, former cfo of CBS Television (West Coast) and president of Goldhil Media Int'l where he oversaw distribution of FUNimation programs including CABBAGE PATCH KIDS, TEENAGE NINJA TURTLES, DRAGON BALL Z and YU-GI-OH!, and family programming such as LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE.

Chung will be representing GD Multimedia at NATPE and can be contacted to set up an appointment at (818) 707-9213 or by e-mailing coogdmultimedia@yahoo.com. He oversees all partnerships and acquisitions in Asia where he has spearheaded numerous animation co-production alliances for more ten years.
