Minneapolis -- (February 22, 2011) – Gasket Studios (the design, visual effects and animation boutique) is going to the next level with a new space and two new talents: Look Artist Tiffany Borchardt and Animator Clayton Miller. For Gasket Founder, Creative Director Greg Shultz, and Executive Producer Tammy Kimbler, the significant changes will enable them to evolve Gasket into the “next-generation” of its strategic growth.

In addition to adding talent to support its growth, Gasket has moved to an expanded new space and is taking on bigger and bigger projects, explains Shultz. “It was time to grow the company into what I am calling ‘Gasket 3.0,’” he says. “These changes have allowed us to attract two very high caliber artists, and we have plans to add more artists to the team this year.”

Tiffany Borchardt

Gasket remains in the same historic Lumber Exchange building in downtown Minneapolis’ creative hub but has moved to the 6th Floor, adding 5,000 square feet. “Clients are looking for a partner to help bring their ideas to life,” adds Kimbler. “They are seeking our help in creating and executing their vision – to turn a great concept into an amazing end product. We feel we have created an environment for the artists to accomplish that, giving them individual space, but also enabling them to come together as teams to communicate and create together collaboratively.”

Look Artist Tiffany Borchardt joins Gasket, returning to her native Minneapolis from Los Angeles, where she worked at Rhythm & Hues on such feature films as “The Golden Compass” (winner of the Academy Award for “Best Visual Effects”), “Night at the Museum,” “Evan Almighty,” “ “The Incredible Hulk,” “Aliens in the Attic,” “Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian,” “The Land of the Lost,” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.” At Rhythm & Hues, Tiffany served as Lighting Technical Director and Look Development Artist. Tiffany is a graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design. Not only did she receive an Outstanding Achievement Award in Visual Effects, given to only two students per year at SCAD, she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was a member of the SCAD Fencing Club.

Clayton Miller

Also joining the Gasket team is Animator Clayton Miller. A graduate of Art Institute International Minnesota, Clayton joins Gasket from Flurry Animation Studios where he worked on character animation and rigging for episodic children’s direct-to-video programming. Prior to Flurry, Clayton had a two-year tenure at Oops Animation, where he worked on the History Channel show “Monster Quest” Season 1, as well as a diversity of animations including character, medical & forensic, architectural, commercial and episodic. He also participated in the 2008 FJORG! Iron Man Animation competition at Siggraph/LA where he had 32 hours to make short film.

Current projects for Gasket include a new commercial campaign for Office Max via ad agency Preston Kelly featuring an animated rubber band ball. Recent projects include design and visual effects for a national Best Buy/Beats Headphones commercial featuring Dr. Dre. Also launched before the end of 2010 was a new integrated content spot for Tylenol PM via AKQA/NY.
