Garfield Pounces On kidthing

When he wants in, he wants in NOW! America's favorite fat cat Garfield is now at kidthing, the new browser and ad-free place for kids to play and learn on their computers.

The finicky feline stars in six new digital learning games and books from Paws Inc. including: GARFIELD SCARED SILLY comic strip book, GARFIELD AND FOOD pick 'n' paint coloring pages, GARFIELD AND THE TIGER narrated Page turner book (available in English and Spanish), WHAT'S GARFIELD HIDING? interactive game, GARFIELD JOKES & RIDDLES interactive activity book and GARFIELD CLICKER STICKERS. The Garfield products are the latest addition to kidthing's growing library of digital books, games and videos from leading publishers.

Garfield joins other popular and classic titles available on kidthing including selections from HarperCollins Children's Books, Dr.Seuss Enterprises, Penguin Young Readers Group, Wee Sing and more.

In what lasagna-loving Garfield calls "the most fun you can have without marinara sauce," kidthing's digital media platform gives children ages three to 10 the freedom to play and learn on the computer without being exposed to the dangers of the Web. kidthing's free player is not a web browser so there's no worrying about kids going to inappropriate or unwanted websites or online worlds.

Garfield turned 30 this past summer, and today is the most widely syndicated comic strip in the world, reaching over 230 million readers daily. In addition to his debut on kidthing, Garfield has starred in two feature-length films and now has a new animated 3D television series in the works.

According to Garfield creator Jim Davis, "Garfield is proud to be part of the kidthing experience. This is a fun, friendly, and safe environment for kids to explore and learn. But you don't have to tell the kids that -- they'll just think they're having fun, and that's quite all right with Garfield."

After downloading the free kidthing player, parents and teachers simply browse, preview and purchase rich digital content at the kidthing store, which automatically downloads and then can be played without being connected to the Internet. Products are available for as low as 99 cents and there are no subscription fees. The purchased content resides on the computer and, if downloaded to a laptop, is a convenient, portable entertainment and education option for kids and families on the go. kidthing runs on Windows XP or Vista and will be available for Mac at a future date.
