Philadelphia, PA---October 8, 2009--- GameX (Games & Media Expo), October 23-25, 2009 in Philadelphia, today announced THE GAUNTLET as one of their featured game tournaments, presented by Alienware®, Dell’s premier, high-performance PC gaming brand representing premium power and performance for gamers and technology enthusiasts alike.
Competitive gamers and GameX attendees are invited to show up at the GameX LAN Center space on Saturday, October 24, 10 am to 6 pm, for THE GAUNTLET to compete on one of 100 high-performance Alienware gaming rigs to be the last gamer standing through a series of five elimination challenges.
THE GAUNTLET will run three separate times that day, with all 5 challenges each time. Participants will put their gaming skills to the test on leading titles Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Unreal Tournament 3, and the newly released tactical shooter Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising published by Codemasters.
The Champion player of each run of THE GAUNTLET (3 total winners) will win $250 cash plus a retail copy of the new game Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, courtesy of Codemasters. All players that advance to the third phase will also receive an official Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising t-shirt.
Presented by NBC Local Media in Philadelphia, GameX has quickly ramped up to be high-visibility entertainment, tech and media show with games as its main attraction.
