Santa Monica, California (Aug 05, 2009) -- Activision Blizzard, Inc. today announced better-than-expected financial results for the second quarter 2009.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2009, Activision Blizzard’s GAAP net revenues were $1,038 million, and its non-GAAP net revenues were $801 million. The company’s prior GAAP net revenue outlook for the quarter was $1 billion. On a non-GAAP basis, the company’s net revenue outlook was $775 million.

Dark Void Pushed to 2010

Joystiq.com reports that Capcom has pushed the DARK VOID release to 2010. The move is to avoid a full fall season of game releases. Airtight Games developed the jet pack flying game. DARK VOID was set to hit stores in September, which is the same month that HALO 3 ODST is set to drop. However, the first quarter of 2010 is looking even more packed than the fall with such titles as SPLINTER CELL: CONVICTION, BIOSHOCK 2 and RED STEEL 2 already set for release.

Sony Pictures has picked up a pitch from screenwriter Sheldon Turner to adapt Sucker Punch videogame inFAMOUS into a feature film, per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

The deal, in the seven figures, is still being process with Sony's sister company Sony Computer Ent., which publishes the game. Avi Arad and Ari Arad will produce. Sony execs Matt Tolmach and Jonathan Kadin are overseeing for the studio.
