The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists' national board of directors have agreed to send a proposed extension of its video game contract to members for ratification, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

AFTRA's board is asking members to approve a deal that will extend the current deal through March 31, 2011. The extension, which would take effect on Jan. 1, 2010, provides members with a 2.5-percent pay increase and a 0.2-percent hike in employer contributions to pension and health, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

"AFTRA members pioneered union work under the Interactive Media Agreement in the early 1990s, and today this contract generates millions of dollars in earnings and benefits for thousands of AFTRA members in both large and small markets around the nation," AFTRA president Roberta Reardon said in a statement.
