Hasbro has identified MY LITTLE PONY as its first property to build a TV series out of for its joint venture kids cable channel with Discovery, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

Hasbro Studios, which was recently formed to supply the new channel with content has put the project on the fast track. The company selected the title as its first series vehicle after seeing a strong showing for a one-hour special from the brand on the Disney Channel earlier this month.

"The runaway success of 'My Little Pony' on the Disney Channel affirms our belief in the long-term value of this project," said Hasbro Studios president Stephen Davis.
