FX Could Pay $40M For Spidey 3 TV Rights

FX has obtained the TV rights to Columbia Pictures' SPIDER-MAN 3 from Sony Pictures Television, reports the trades. The agreement is linked to the film's final box office total, which means it could be worth as much as $40 million. The five-year agreement will start in Dec. 2009 after the films pay TV run on Starz. Sony still has broadcast and syndication windows available. FX's recent debut of SPIDER-MAN 2 brought in more than $1 million viewers in the coveted 18-49 demo.
