Futuremark Games Studio Selects Allegorithmic's ProFX

Allegorithmic announced that the newly launched Futuremark Games Studio has chosen ProFX as its texturing solution for next-generation game development.

ProFX and its authoring companion MaPZone were selected for their ability to rapidly author high-quality textures with maximum control.

Futuremark, famous for its breathtaking 3DMark benchmarks, will use ProFX to develop its first original IP game.

The non-linear authoring process behind ProFX enables game studios to produce texture assets up to two times faster than with regular techniques.

ProFX procedural texture files are very small in size -- typically 500 to 1,000 times smaller -- making them ideal for use in massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs), virtual communities, casual, and downloadable games.

Futuremark Games Studio develops original IP games with the highest quality game play, combined with an established track record of creating blow-your-socks-off visuals.

Futuremark's new studio seamlessly integrates the latest technologies into its engines, and its mission is to build world-class games that bring new and entertaining game play to gamers.

This includes games and their engines that deliver stellar performance even on modest platforms, right up to the most advanced levels of performance hardware.
