Futurama's Original Voice Cast Is Back

All five FUTURAMA castmates; John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille have officially signed deals with 20th Century Fox TV to return for the reboot according to VARIETY.

This surprise news comes on the heels of 20th Century Fox looking to quickly replace the show’s original voice-actors for 26 new episodes set to air on Comedy Central.

Show co-creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen stated, "We are thrilled to have our incredible cast back. The call has already gone out to the animators to put the mouths back on the characters."

The studio had previously announced that Comedy Central would begin airing the new episodes in mid-2010 with the show's producers certain Sagal and the others would sign. However, negotiations broke down, sending pre-production spinning.

Although the final salary amounts remain unclear, cost-cutting has led to a leaner writing staff and shorter script turnaround. Having originally aired on FOX (1999-2003) FUTURAMA has gained new popularity through DVD sales and rebroadcasts.
