FRANNYS FEET lead to an impressive showing at MIPCOM Jr. amongst DECODE Entertainments many offerings at MIPCOM 2003. The delightfully illustrative digital 2D animated show (13x30 or 3x7 per half hour) placed eighth in the MIPCOM Jr. screenings.
FRANNYS FEET is a pre-school series that tells the exciting stories of a little girl whose fantastic feet take her on magical adventures when she tries on shoes in her grandfathers repair shop. The series is commissioned by Channel Five in the U.K. and the Family Channel in Canada.
Many a MIPCOM attendee tracked their feet over the gangplank to the DECODE yacht docked alongside the Palais to partake of wine, goodies, show talk and laughs. Insiders and long acquaintances of DECODE co-founder Neil Court were seen sporting buttons bearing his photo as devoted fans of the notoriously charming distributor in a good-hearted prank his officemates played on him.
DECODE Ent. brought a wide range of distinctive live-action and animated series including, the new teen comedy drama RADIO FREE ROSCOE with THE BLOBHEADS, KING and THE SAVE-UMS!
RADIO FREE ROSCOE follows the lives of four diverse and quirky teenagers who launch an anonymous underground radio station where they voice the hopes, fears and confusion of their generation. RADIO FREE ROSCOE also has an Internet radio component that spans the gap between the weekly episodes. The Internet element allows fans of the series to tune to the web show in the same way that the tweens in Roscoe tune in to the regular radio broadcast.
Created by Will and Doug McRobb (THE ADVENTURES OF PETE AND PETE), the 26x30 series is commissioned by The N, Noggins nighttime network for teens owned by Nickelodeon. The series is also set to air on The Family Channel in Canada.
THE BLOBHEADS (26 x30) features an extraordinary mix of CGI animation and live-action. With one flush of his toilet, 14 year-old Billy Barness life changes forever when the morphing, mess-making Zerek, Kerek and Derek arrive from Planet Blob. They have come to protect the Emperor of the Universe, who just so happens to be Billys baby brother Silas. Now Billy not only has to try and survive grade 9, but he also has to deal with purple and red Blobheads living in his room.
A DECODE co-production with U.K. independent Wark Clements, THE BLOBHEADS, has been snapped up by Nickelodeon for its U.K. and international channels, French broadcaster Canal J, Canadas CBC and ZDF in Germany.
THE SAVE-UMS! (26x30) are the new breed of 3D animated action heroes who will help prepare pre-schoolers for their role in the 21st century. The colorful pint-sized Ave-Ums utilize whimsical helicopters, space ships and other cool machines to solve problems and nurture an interest in technology and critical thinking. Pre-schoolers will learn the principle of cause and effect and the impact of co-operative play. Commissioned by Discoverys The Learning Channel and Discovery Kids in the US and by the CBC in Canada, THE SAVE-UMS! is airing on Five in the U.K.
The 2D animated series, KING (26x22) follows the adventures of a boy called Russell whose world is turned upside down as he discovers a portal under his bed, which takes him to a kingdom where he is king. The series is a co-production between DECODE and Funbag Prods. for the Family Channel in Canada.
