Paris-based boutique financier and distributor About Premium Content signs a co-production deal with German broadcaster NDR for ‘Memories of Nanette,’ and acquires worldwide distribution rights for brand-new animation ‘Zoli & Pokey.’
PARIS -- Nevision-owned boutique financier and distributor About Premium Content has signed a brace of deals for its children’s entertainment slate ahead of MIPJr.
APC Kids, the kids sales arm jointly operated by APC and Lionel Marty of The Distribution Factory, has signed a co-production deal with German broadcaster NDR for Memories of Nanette, a playful animation series produced by studio 2 Minutes for M6.
In a separate deal, APC has acquired worldwide distribution rights to Zoli & Pokey, from producers 2 Minutes and Doghouse Films, with a first episode available at MIPJr and represented worldwide by APC Kids.
APC Kids is also presenting The Wish, produced for TV2 by Danish producer COSMO and premiering this Christmas, an original live action series which brings mystery, fairytale magic and adventure to a very contemporary and rather dysfunctional family. The show will debut at MIPJr.
The Wish follows 12 year old July, who has always felt a bit different and is better playing football than studying at school. This year, her only wish is to spend Christmas with her whole family, but she soon realizes that her plans for a perfect family are going to crumble when she learns her dad is not her real dad. An aspiring young angel is sent to earth to help her.
Adapted from comic books by Nob published across Europe, Memories of Nanette is a charming animated series documenting nine-year-old Nanette as she leaves the city behind to move to a small village. Nanette would never have imagined it but she can experience everything she reads in “Treasure Island” now that she’s living in the countryside for the first time. Kind and cheerful, Nanette is completely open-minded about people, and thanks to her new home she’ll soon become a specialist at milking goats, a professional carrot-lifter, an excellent walker, an expert woodland orienteer and an experienced hut-builder.
Originally airing on French channel GULLI, Zoli & Pokey examines what happens when a brilliant but absent father returns to his family…as a dog! Zoli & Pokey is an animated sitcom which tells the story of how the pre-teen life of Zoli is transformed by the sudden arrival of his dad, who has been turned into a dog. As unlikely as the unexpected arrival of Pokey the dog is, over the course of the series the father and son duo become inseparable. In a warm and quirky way, this is the portrait of a modern family reunited, with its complex relationships, sibling rivalry, pre-teen and teen crises, parents who question their education, and intrusive step parents. Zoli & Pokey has it all!
