Fox Renews Simpsons, King of the Hill

DAILY VARIETY reports that the Fox network has picked up two more seasons of THE SIMPSONS, giving America's favorite dysfunctional family two more years to wreak havoc on the town of Springfield. The series, which is currently in its 14th season, is still widely acclaimed as one of the best sitcoms on air. It is nominated for a 2002 Golden Globe in the Best Comedy Series category, the first time ever an animated series has been so honored. With the renewal, THE SIMPSONS will extend into its 16th season, giving it 360 completed episodes to make it the longest running comedy on television, topping the 1950s sitcom OZZIE & HARRIET, which lasted through its 15th season. Network mate KING OF THE HILL was also renewed for an additional season, which will be that show's eighth. Both series are produced by Film Roman.
