Fox Kids Europe Gets New Legal Head

Fox Kids Europe (FKE) has promoted Oliver Fryer from director of legal and business affairs to general counsel, responsible for FKE's contractual, legal and business affairs issues, legal outsourcing, corporate governance and the company's legal team. Fryer replaces Kate Trinder (who held the post for five years) and reports to Bruce Steinberg, CEO. Fryer worked for Herbert Smith, the Simkins Partnership and Zenith Entertainment before joining FKE in June 2001. FKE is a leading pan-European integrated children's entertainment company with localized television channels, program distribution and consumer products businesses. FKE is listed on the Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange and the Walt Disney Co. is a majority shareholder. In its recently released 2002 Annual Report, FKE reported its channels reach more than 32 million households across Europe and the Middle East (56 countries in 17 languages), with a local channel in every major European market. It distributes a library of approximately 6,300 episodes to 120 broadcasters in 50 countries. As of September 30, 2002 FKE has more than $60M in net cash balances, which is more than it retained from the proceeds of its initial public offering three years ago.
