FOX BOX Adds 4 New Shows to '03-'04 LINE-UP

4Kids Entertainment, who handles the Saturday broadcast programming for Fox, has announced their FOX BOX line-up for the 2003-04 season. New to the schedule is 4Kids' first original animated series, CUBIX, as well as SONIC X, SHAMAN KING and FUNKY COPS. Returning to the Saturday morning block will be TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, KIRBY: RIGHT BACK AT YA!, THE CRAMP TWINS and ULTIMATE MUSCLE: THE KINNIKUMAN LEGACY.

"We do more before noon every Saturday than most networks do in a week!" said Norman Grossfeld, president of 4Kids Productions. "The FOX BOX line-up continues to deliver quality shows and is rapidly becoming a Saturday morning destination."

Starting off the block at 8:00 am, CUBIX follows the adventures of 13-year-old robot master Connor, who gives life to a discarded robot named Cubix that helps Connor and his friends battle the crazed scientist, Dr. K. At 8:30 am, the TV-Loonland/Cartoon Network U.K. hit THE CRAMP TWINS chronicles the cantankerous relationship between polar opposite 10-year-old twins, Wayne and Lucien. Returning at 9:00 am, ULTIMATE MUSCLE: THE KINNIKUMAN LEGACY, produced by Toei Animation, will continue the intergalactic adventures of hopeless wrestler Kid Muscle as he tries to fend off space villains to save the universe. Debuting at 9:30 am, SONIC X (from Sega and Project Sonic), based on the popular video game, sends our hedgehog hero to a strange planet where he must collect "Chaos Emeralds" before they fall into the evil clutches of Dr. Eggman.

Arriving at 10:00 am, KIRBY: RIGHT BACK AT YA!, also based on a popular video game, (animated by Nintendo and Hal Laboratory) follows Warpstar knight-in-training Kirby as he must use his powers to battle King Dedede's monsters in a fight to save Planet Popstar. Returning at the 10:30 am slot, the new TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES brings back the adventures of the wisecracking reptiles in a series that's closely inspired by the original comic book series and follows an serial format produced by Mike Young Prods.

Premiering at 11 am, SHAMAN KING comes from the producers of the widely popular YU-GI-OH! series and follows the adventures of a 13-year-old shaman and his teammate a samurai warrior spirit, who traverse the world fighting evil spirits and misguided shamans on their journey to be the next Shaman King. Rounding out the block at 11:30 am, FUNKY COPS, which recently won Cartoon on the Bay's Best New Animated Series award for producer AnteFilms in France, is 1970's cop show inspired spoof and records the misadventures of two brothers on the police force who become stars at a San Francisco disco scene.
