“‘Santa Intervention’ captured the unique and edgy spirit of FOX’s animated shows. By tapping into Aniboom’s pool of undiscovered animation talent, FOX has found a promising creator in Jay who we might not have otherwise met,” said President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company, Kevin Reilly.

“We are always on the lookout for fresh voices in the animation space,” commented Twentieth Century Fox Television Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden. “‘Santa Intervention’ definitely fits the Fox mold of subversive, smart animated comedy, and in addition to bringing its creator, Jay Malone, to our attention, this contest helped us identify a handful of other unique talents that we think have huge potential.”

The FOX-Aniboom Holiday Animation Challenge called on Aniboom’s community of nearly 8,000 animators from across the globe to enter their original holiday-inspired animated shorts. After the contest kicked off on May 27, 2009, entries were submitted throughout the summer, followed by a voting period in September during which viewers rated their favorite submissions. Out of the five finalists, four were selected by a panel of FOX executives and one was selected as a “Viewers Choice.” Each of the five finalists received a prize of $5,000.

“Providing Aniboom’s community of 8,000 animators with network television opportunities is our highest priority, and FOX is synonymous with the very best in prime-time animation,” said Uri Shinar, founder and CEO of Aniboom. “Jay Malone’s ‘Santa Intervention’ illustrates the fun animators can have with this art form and superbly represents the caliber of talent within Aniboom.”About Fox Broadcasting Company Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) is a unit of News Corporation and the leading broadcast television network among Adults 18-49.
