The Foundry Appoints Biz Dev Partner for FLIX

The Foundry appoints Montreal-based business development company SDLC worldwide partner for its web-based collaborative tool FLIX.

Montreal -- Business development company SDLC, Inc. announced its appointment as worldwide business development partner for The Foundry’s web-based collaborative tool FLIX.

Originally developed in-house at Sony Pictures Animation, where it was used on such features as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and Hotel Transylvania, FLIX is The Foundry’s web-based software solution to enhance pre-production and storyboarding process for animated features and commercials.

SDLC will expand the commercialization of FLIX in global markets, strengthening FLIX adoption by renowned production studios and promoting FLIX to other industries which also use the organic and collective pictorial storyline method for preproduction blueprint and project planning.

“Artists at most of the major animation studios in the industry have already embraced FLIX as the hub of their creative storytelling process,” said Yiotis Katsambas, FLIX product manager at The Foundry. “We are very excited in reaching out to more studios globally and in industries beyond animation. We always knew that the creative collaboration does not apply just to animation but it can be very beneficial to many industries.”
