Fogel, Lynn Put NYC Studio In Motion

Eric Fogel, creator of MTV's CELEBRITY DEATHMATCH and producing partner John Lynn have opened AniMotion Unlimited, a full service animation studio located in Midtown Manhattan. The studio's mission is to keep animation production alive and well on the East Coast, according to Fogel. Fogel was creator/director/co-exec producer of CELEBRITY DEATHMATCH, MTV's first clay-animated series that had a four-season run, starting in 1998. To speed up the process and reduce the cost for a weekly stop-motion series, Fogel helped develop a digital capture system, which is an important part of the AniMotion production facility. The system allows animators to preview shots and tweak to cut down on retakes, and elements can be captured against a chroma or green screen, to reduce the number of set requirements and space needed. Lynn was vp of MTV Animation and producer/creative supervisor on the series. He was also co-producer of BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD for seven seasons and was supervising producer on MTV'S DOWNTOWN. Fogel also created THE HEAD, the graphic novel turned into a TV series for two seasons on MTV. Their new studio has several new animated projects in development, including one at Nickelodeon and one at The Cartoon Network. AniMotion is vying for film and commercial work as well.
