FMX 2015 Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence

Top industry professionals in animation, effects, games and transmedia share their thoughts on the success of the FMX Conference, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2015.

FMX, Europe's most influential conference on animation, effects, games and transmedia, launches its 20th anniversary edition on May 5.

Ever since its inception in 1994, FMX (the German abbreviation for film and media exchange) has evolved from a local, German-speaking conference into a professional international event, where Art, Technology and Business meet.

To mark this 20th anniversary, FMX offers dedicated anniversary sessions as part of a multifaceted program with high-quality presentations, workshops and discussions -- and it continues to place an emphasis on future trends and developments in the animation, effects, games and transmedia industries.

Join AWN and FMX as we mark the occasion with a number of top industry professionals sharing their thoughts on what makes the event so successful:

Running May 5-8 in Stuttgart, Germany, FMX 2015 kicks off with an introductory anniversary event moderated by Sebastian Sylwan, “20th Anniversary of FMX,” during which 20 VFX professionals and pioneers working in films, games, television and more will share their personal milestones from the last 20 years with the audience. Speakers include William Sargent (CEO, Framestore), David Sproxton (CEO, Aardman) and Thomas Zauner (Managing Director, Scanline).

Also on tap is “20 Years of ‘Toy Story,” a presentation from VFX luminary Joe Letteri, “20 years of Weta Digital,” and “40 years of Industrial Light & Magic.”
