FME Signs New 'Tree Fu Tom' Licensing Deals

FremantleMedia signs new licensing deals for “Tree Fu Tom,” following the shows debut at the London Toy Fair and ahead of its toy launch.

London, UK -- Following Tree Fu Tom's 

debut at the London Toy Fair and ahead of the subsequent retail roll out of the first phase category product ranges, FremantleMedia Enterprises has announced it has signed a quartet of new UK licensees for the heroic pre-school brand including VTech for electronic learning toys; Brand International for footwear; GB Eye for posters and badges; and a multi-product deal with International Greetings across creative publishing, stationery, arts & crafts and crackers. The latest signings bring the total number of licensees representing the brand in the UK to 19.

The announcement comes as the first range of products is set to hit retail this spring including Giochi Preziosi’s and GP Flair’s eagerly awaited toy collection; books from Random House Children’s Publishing; puzzles from Ravensburger; triscooter, skateboard and helmet from MV Sports and the second DVD release, Tree Fu Magic, from FME’s home entertainment division.

These four new high-quality licensees will provide additional variety and breadth to the growing Tree Fu Tom product range. With the imminent core retail rollout and a new series also due to air this year, 2013 looks set to be a spectacular year for this vibrant pre-school property.”

The BAFTA nominated series is finding audiences around the world.  Currently airing in multiple territories Tree Fu Tom’s international expansion will continue in 2013 with launches in Spain, Portugal, Finland and Latin America. With a comprehensive international licensing strategy in place, Tree Fu Tom is set to firmly take root in 2013 and establish itself as a powerhouse property in the global pre-school market.

With animation by Blue Zoo Animation, Tree Fu Tom is a co-production between FME and the BBC for CBeebies. The executive producers for the BBC are Jackie Edwards and Alison Stewart; and Bob Higgins and Sander Schwartz for FME. Tree Fu Tom was created and produced by Daniel Bays. FME manages international distribution for the series outside of the UK and manages other ancillary rights globally.
