FireFly Studio’s Stronghold 2 Uses Lifemode Facial Animation Technology

Best-selling strategy game STRONGHOLD 2 was developed by FireFly Studios and published by 2K Games, a publishing label of Take2 Interactive, using Lifemode Interactives LifeStudio:HEAD.

LifeStudio:HEAD is a multi-platform SDK for creating innovative heads, and contains a comprehensive package of features and character libraries that supports Windows, PlayStation 2 and Xbox platforms. LifeStudio:HEAD also supports 3ds max and Maya plug-ins. The technology allows game developers and 3D artists to create sequences in games that combine automated lip-synch with nonlinear facial animation in realtime.

STRONGHOLD 2 is the only game that offers both sim and combat strategy gameplay. The game offers a full story-driven single player campaign, innovative features like the all-new Kingmaker and enhanced multiplayer modes and additional gameplay options for more casual players.

"With STRONGHOLD 2, we've added more depth to the castle life, characters and siege gameplay, said Simon Bradbury, md from Firefly Studios. We are certainly very pleased with the amazing realism of all our characters that over all has produced what we think is the definitive medieval game.

Natalie Polikarpova from Lifemode said, "This is truly what our technology was designed for. Now all players can enjoy a real adventure in the ultimate video games experience. Thank you to those gamers for their amazing response!"
