Korea is getting its first 3-D film. VARIETY reports that THE BATTLE OF YELLOW SEA from director Kwak Kyung-taek will be a 3-D live-action epic. The story will chronicle the 2002 naval battle between North and South Korea.

The $2 million production is being co-produced by IM Pictures. Filming will begin in March with producers eying sometime after Q3 for a release.

Currently 60 screens in South Korea have 3-D capabilities, but there should be 100 by the time this film hits theaters.
