Disney is in talks with TOY STORY 3 scribe Michael Arndt to pen SNOW AND THE SEVEN, reports Heat Vision. The new 19th century twist on the fairy tale finds an Englishwoman returning to Hong Kong for her father's funeral where she is challenged by her wicked stepmother. She runs away to Mainland China where she is taken in by seven international fighters.

Disney has tapped production designer John Myhre (MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA) to begin pre-production work on the world. Andrew Gunn is the producer and Francis Lawrence is set to direct. Natalie Portman has been eyeing the lead role.

Scott Elder and Josh Harmon wrote the original script for the project, which has been reworked by Michael Chabon, Jon Lucas & Scott Moore, and Jayson Rothwell.
