Tim Burton has reunited with Ed Wood scribes Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski for The Addams Family, the stop-motion feature that Burton is producing with Chris Meledandri for Illumination Ent. and Universal Pictures, reports Deadline Hollywood. The "darkly funny and subversive" feature is being adapted from the goth drawings of Charles Addams created for The New Yorker, which have been very influential to Burton's work.

Alexander and Karaszewski’s writing work includes 1408 and The People Vs. Larry Flynt.  Illumination is the Universal film unit that launched earlier this summer with the widely acclaimed and successful Despicable Me.
