What will be Steven Spielberg's next film has become a popular guessing game in Hollywood these days. Now Deadline.com adds a new title to the mix. They claim that Spielberg is circling ROBOPOCALYPSE, which is being written by CLOVERFIELD scribe Drew Goddard based on Daniel H Wilson's book.

The epic sci-fi tale follows humanity's fight against a massive robot uprising. Wilson is still working on the novel, but Goddard has already seen drafts and has begun the screenplay.

Other projects Spielberg is rumored to be considering include: an adaptation of Michael Morpugo's WAR HORSE; a Gershwin biopic, starring Zachary Quinto (STAR TREK); THE 39 CLUES, based on the popular YA adventure book series; and his long-gestating Lincoln Civil War pic.
