With strictly live-action fare reigning the U.S. box office, SNOW DAY slipped to sixth place, while PITCH BLACK remained steady in fifth place. Paramount's kid-pic, with special effects by Curious Pictures, fell from #2, grossing US$4.8 million this past weekend and bringing its total gross to $49 million. USA Films' PITCH BLACK, with primary visual effects by Double Negative Ltd. and The Chandler Group, clocked in at #5 for the second straight weekend, grossing $5.07 million raising its total gross to $29.7 million. DreamWorks' AMERICAN BEAUTY stayed steady at #9 grossing another $4.03 million, bringing its total to $93 million. Falling out of the top ten, THE TIGGER MOVIE finished at #13, making $3.62 million, raising its cume to $35.5 million. FANTASIA/2000 fell again to eighteenth place grossing $1.45 million and bringing its cume to $28.9 million. Other special effects laden or animation films finishing in the top thirty were: THE SIXTH SENSE at #19, with a gross of $1.19 million and a cume of $285.5 million; THE GREEN MILE at #20, with a gross of $1.09 million and a cume of $132.7 million; STUART LITTLE at #24, with a gross of $430,000 and a cume of $136.9 million; GALAXY QUEST at #25, with a gross of $400,000 and a cume of $69.6 million; and TOY STORY 2 at #26, with a gross of $260,000 and a cume of $241 million.
