SNAKES ON A PLANE director David R. Ellis has inked a deal to helm Incentive Filmed Ent.’s SHARK NIGHT 3D, reports Deadline.com. Written by Jesse Studenberg and Will Hayes, the film hopes to be a JAWS for the 3-D crowd. Walt Conti is creating the animatronic sharks.

The $28 million film is being funded by Incentive and produced by Mike Fleiss, Chris Briggs and Lynette Howell.

The production will start in Louisiana this summer.

Sierra Pictures' Nick Meyer will rep the film to the international market. WME Global will handle North American rights.
