FilmDistrict has picked up the distribution rights to SAW creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell's new haunted house film INSIDIOUS, reports Deadline.com. Oren Peli, Jason Blum and Steven Schneider of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY fame are the producers. The new distribution company, formed by Bob Berney and Peter Schlessel with financing from Graham King and Tim Headington, plans to put the horror flick on 2,500 screens on April 1.

The story follows a family that moves into a haunted house and after their son slips into a comma they decide to move. Horribly the poltergeists move with them. Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson and Whannell star.

Alliance and IM Global produced the flick. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones is the exec producer.
