An action thriller from Scott Stewart and Gus Krieger, PSY-OPS, has been picked up by Bold Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Stewart came up with the initial story and later developed it with Krieger, who will write the script.

Stuart Maschwitz is also on board to make his directorial debut with the film that revolves around a covert U.S. military unit of psychological operatives who specialize in exploiting their target's deepest fears.

The film's creators are aiming to combine the elements of 1980s action flicks with visual realism of movies like the "Bourne" series.
