Warner Bros. and producers Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman have tapped commercials director Carl Rinsch to helm their remake of LOGAN'S RUN, reports VARIETY. The project has been in development hell for a decade with Bryan Singer, Skip Woods, Robert Schwenke and James McTeigue all attached as directors as some point

Based on William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson's novel, the story is set in a future where overpopulation has led to mandatory death sentences for citizens when they reach 30 years old. The book was previously adapted in 1976 at MGM with director Michael Anderson and stars Michael York, Jenny Agutter, Peter Ustinov and Farrah Fawcett co-starring.
