Variety reports Warner Bros. has tapped Guy Ritchie to bring the DC Comic, LOBO to life. The drama pick, expected to be heavy on vfx involves an alien bounty hunter.

Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Andrew Rona will produce for Silver Pictures and Weed Road. Don Payne has penned the most recent draft, with LOBO to begin lensing in 2010.

The character (originated in 1983’s OMEGA MAN) has had several comic book incarnations. In Ritche’s film he will be seen as an indestructible, blue-muscled/anti-hero.

Steve Richards and Kerry Foster will serve as executive producers on LOBO. A PG-13 rating is expected.
