Goro Miyazaki Saves Kokuriko Slope

Goro Miyazaki, the son of Hayao Miyazaki and director of TALES OF EARTHSEA, is set to direct Studio Ghibli’s next feature KOKURIKO-ZAKA KARA, reports Variety. Based on Chizuru Takahashi and Tetsuro Sayama’s comic, the story is set prior to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and follows a group of teens who set out to save their clubhouse. Hayao will co-write the script with Keiko Niwa. Toshio Suzuki is the producer. Ghibli plans to release the film next summer.
