Director Genndy Tartakovsky, the The Moscow-born creator of the Cartoon Network shows Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack, offered up some frank commentary to the Los Angeles Times on the making of Sony’s Hotel Transylvania, including what it was like to work in the enervating atmosphere of a project that has passed through many creators' hands:

"I was the sixth man in, and it was like being dropped into combat," Tartakovsky said recently at his office on Sony Pictures Animation's Culver City lot. "This movie's been worked for six years already and everybody's kind of bitter.... I've never had so much resistance from everywhere — the studio, the artists. It took me a while to get my feet on the ground and win everybody over."

Featuring the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez, the animated feature will be released on September 28, 2012. Special screenings have also been planned for the 3D Entertainment Summit, with a special introduction from the film's 3D Stereographic Lead Von Williams, and  SPA’s  10th Anniversary screening series.
