Framelight has optioned rights to CHI-CHIAN to develop the cult comic as a feature, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.

The property began as a six-part comic book from Cuban-American musician Voltaire and spawned a set of digital episodes for Syfy and a role-playing game, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER adds.

Jeffrey Erb and Robert Robinson Jr. will produce what THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER describes as a "fairy tale-tinged" pic set in a "dystopian New York" that has "lost its independence and become a prefecture of Japan."
