Fox Announces Director & Date for Simpsons Movie
Surprising theater-goers who went to see ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN with a teaser trailer, Twentieth Century Fox has announced details about the highly-anticipated SIMPSONS MOVIE.
The film will open worldwide in theaters on July 27, 2007. David Silverman, THE SIMPSONS supervising animation director, who also co-helmed Pixar’s MONSTERS, INC., is directing.
The film is in the storyboarding stage following two years of script drafts and three covert cast readings. Writers include a who’s who of SIMPSON alum, including creator Matt Groening, exec producer James L. Brooks, Mike Scully, Al Jean, Ian Maxtone-Graham, George Meyer, David Mirkin, Mike Reiss, Matt Selman, John Swartzwelder and Jon Vitti.
Groening will also produce with Brooks, Jean, Scully and Richard Sakai.
