Bowing in second place was DreamWorks’ family drama, DREAMER: INSPIRED BY A TRUE STORY (with vfx by Hammerhead), which brought in $9.1M. Following in third was Aardman/DreamWorks’ WALLACE & GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT. The stop-motion gem (with vfx from MPC) took in $8.5M and now has a three-week cume of $43.9M. Coming in the fourth spot was Sony/Revolution’s THE FOG remake (with vfx from Hydraulx), which collected $6.6M for a two-week tally of $20.9M. Debuting in fifth place was Warner Bros.’ social drama NORTH COUNTRY, which garnered $6.4M. Dropping to sixth was Paramount’s ELIZABETHTOWN (with vfx from Digital Filmworks and Flash Film Works). Cameron Crowe’s movie attracted $5.6M for a two-week total of $18.8M. Placing seventh was Buena Vista’s FLIGHTPLAN (with vfx Lola Visual Effects and Peerless Camera Co.), with $4.7M and a cume of $77.2M. The eighth spot went to Fox’s romantic comedy, IN HER SHOES, which managed $3.8M and $26.1M so far. New Line’s A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE (with vfx from Mr. X Inc.) recaptured the ninth spot with $2.6M and $26.3M. Holding the 10th spot was Universal’s TWO FOR THE MONEY, with $2.4M and a cume of $20.7M.
