Walt Disney Pictures has set the release dates for FRANKENWEENIE and JOHN CARTER OF MARS.

FRANKENWEENIE will hit theaters on March 9, 2012. Based on Tim Burton's 1984 live-action short, this 3-D stop motion feature follows a pet owner who brings his beloved dog back to life. Burton is producing and directing from a script by John August.

JOHN CARTER will arrive on the big screen June 8, 2012. The film is based on the first novel in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom Series. The story follows a Civil War veteran (Taylor Kitsch) who is transported to Mars and winds up in the middle of a new war. Cast includes Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church and Willem Dafoe. Andrew Stanton is directing from a script he co-wrote with Michael Chabon.
