Disney to Make Finest Hours

Disney has inked a high-six against seven figure dealt adapt Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias' book THE FINEST HOURS into a feature film, reports Deadline.com. Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (THE FIGHTER) will pen the script. The story follows the rescue attempts off the Coast of Cape Cod in 1952 after a massive storm ripped apart two oil tankers and sent 84 men into the frozen waters.

Jim Whitaker and Dorothy Aufiero are the producers. Whitaker, who was an exec at Imagine, has a first look deal with Disney.
