Charlie's Angels Truly Blessed At US BO

By knocking the four-week box office champion MEET THE PARENTS out of the top spot, CHARLIE'S ANGELS was truly blessed at this week's U.S. box office. The 1970s TV-show remake, with primary visual effects by Flash Film Works, racked up an amazing US$40.13 million. In other debuts, DreamWorks' golf fantasy, THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE, came in at #3. The links lullaby, with primary visual effects by PDI, grossed an estimated $11.52 million. Falling from fourth to land in sixth, BEDAZZLED danced in with another $4.66 million. The remake of the 1967 Dudley Moore comedy of the same name, with primary visual effects by Rhythm & Hues, has seduced $30.81 million from moviegoers thus far. Floating down two slots to sit in eighth, THE LITTLE VAMPIRE bit off an additional $3.51 million. The blood-sucking buddy flick, with primary visual effects by Santa Barbara Studios, has collected $9.98 million so far. Possessing the 14th slot, the reissue of THE EXORCIST scared up another $807,497. The pea soup spittin' scare-a-thon, with digital clean-up by Pacific Title Digital, has grabbed $38.67 million thus far. Another evil entry claimed the 15th spot. LOST SOULS, with primary visual effects by Cinesite and yU + Co, scrounged up $621,612, lifting its cume to $16.36 million. In at #18, ALMOST FAMOUS rocked in with $460,581. The critical fav but box office bomb, with primary visual effects by Manex and Pacific Title Digital, has only scored $30.51 million to date. SCARY MOVIE leapt up from #42 to finish in 19th place, grossing $307,104. The horror hi-jinks, with primary visual effects by Centropolis Effects, have laughed in a very impressive $156.5 million. Other animated and special effects laden films finishing in the top fifty were: THE PERFECT STORM at #21, with a gross of $252,693 and a cume of $182.1 million; CYBERWORLD 3D at #24, with a gross of $230,078 and a cume of $1.82 million; DIGIMON: THE MOVIE at #26, with a gross of $203,512 and a cume of $9.26 million; NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS at #27, with a gross of $190,530 and a cume of $122.6 million; WHAT LIES BENEATH at #33, with a gross of $105,020 and a cume of $154.1 million; X-MEN at #37, with a gross of $87,652 and a cume of $157 million; HOLLOW MAN at #38, with a gross of $86,488 and a cume of $73.1 million; THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS at #43, with a gross of $67,917 and a gross of $333,952; DINOSAUR at #44, with a gross of $67,649 and a cume of $137.4 million; URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT at #46, with a gross of $60,082 and a cume of $21.35 million; GONE IN 60 SECONDS at #48, with a gross of $56,432 and a cume of $101.5 million; and T-REX: BACK TO THE CRETACEOUS at #50, with a gross of $52,965 and a cume of $35.08 million.
