Breck Eisner Escapes to New York
THE CRAZIES director Breck Eisner is chatting with New Line to take the helm of its remake of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, reports VARIETY. Neal H. Moritz's Original Films and Canal Plus are producing.

In John Carpenter’s original, Kurt Russell plays Plissken, a con who is promised his freedom if he can rescue the President from the island of Manhattan, which has now become a prison camp.
Ken Nolan, David Kajganich and Allan Loeb have all taken stabs at the new script.
New Line’s Walter Hamada and Sam Brown are shepherding.
