Box Office Report: It’s A Tie!

Clint Eastwood's baseball drama, Trouble with the Curve, trails only slightly behind with $12.7million, and could ultimately move up to first place once actual numbers are reported Monday afternoon.
In fourth place, the 3D release of Pixar’s Finding Nemo brought Disney $9.4 million for a total of $30 million.
Sony’s Resident Evil: Retribution took fifth place with $6.7 million for a domestic total of $33.5 million.
Comic book adaptation/remake Dredd, the fourth new wide release of the weekend, took sixth place with just $6.3 million, less than one-third of Kick-Ass's $19.8 million, and only a little over half of the original Judge Dredd's $12.3 million.
Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, which expanded into 788 theaters on its sophomore weekend, came in seventh place, earning $5 million for a total of $6.1 million.
Lionsgate’s supernatural thriller The Possession took eighth place with $2.6 million for a total of $45.7 million over the film’s four weeks at the box office.
The Weinstein Co.'s prohibition-era drama Lawless came in ninth this weekend, earning $2.3 million for a total of $34.5 million.
Rounding out the list at number 10, Focus Features' animated family film ParaNorman brought in $2.3 million over its sixth weekend at the box office. The 3D stop-motion feature produced by Laika, the creative force behind Coraline, has now grossed $52.6 million.
