Call it serendipity. The team of director Kathryn Bigelow and writer Mark Boal were already prepping a fictional thriller about a special ops team hunting Osama bin Laden before Sunday's announcement from President Barack Obama that the U.S. had assassinated the Al Qaeda leader. Variety now reports that Boal is working to incorporate the real life events into the film, which begins production this summer.

What the real life events do put into question is locations. The production team is weighing its options to determine if previously scouted locations will be safe to film in. Boal, a former investigative journalist, had to cancel a trip to Afghanistan due to concerns over how American tourists will be received by Arabs following the death Bin Laden.

Megan Ellison's Annapurna is producing the project.
