DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD confirmed with Fox that China will be pulling the plug on 2D screenings of AVATAR Jan. 23. The slot will be replaced with a patriotic biopic on the life of Confucius, but a handful of 3-D screenings will continue, DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD reports.

The state-run China Film Group ordered the film's run to end over concerns the movie could cause internal political unrest. AVATAR opened in Chinese theaters on Jan. 4 and was scheduled to run until Feb. 28.

China needs to be told to calm down. I am seeing them way to much in the news lately and never any good things. Maybe it is time for the US to put back on our man pants and go do a good butt kicking at the very least smack them around a little. I feel sorry for all of the people living their sheltered ignorant lives in China.
