Anne Rice's Christ the Lord Born for the Big Screen

Chris Columbus' 1492 Pictures and CJ Ent. have picked up the rights to Anne Rice's CHRIST THE LORD: OUT OF EGYPT, reports Variety. The story follows a seven-year-old Jesus as he travels back to Nazareth with his parents and discovers his divine purpose.

Cyrus Nowrasteh (THE STONING OF SORAYA M.) was hand picked by Rice to adapt the novel. He will co-write the script with Betsy Nowrasteh, as well as direct.

1492 Pictures' Columbus, Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe and CJ Ent.'s Sean Lee, Patricia Chun and Keo Lee are the producers.
