TriStar Pictures will release THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN, an animated musical film based on the novel by E.B. White, in Los Angeles, California and New York, New York on Friday, May 11, 2001. Universally hailed as a classic of children's literature, THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN follows the wonderful and witty adventures of Louie, a mute trumpeter swan who takes extraordinary steps to compensate for his lack of voice. Highlighted by the voices of an all-star cast including Jason Alexander (TV’s SEINFELD, ROCKY & BULLWINKLE), Mary Steenburgen (NOAH'S ARK, WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE?), Reese Witherspoon (ELECTION, CRUEL INTENTIONS), Seth Green (TV’s BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, AUSTIN POWERS), Carol Burnett (THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW) and Joe Mantegna (THE LAST DON, UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL), THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN also features music by renowned jazz producer Marcus Miller and a performance by legendary rock 'n' roll artist Little Richard. A TriStar Pictures presentation, THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN is directed by Richard Rich (THE FOX AND THE HOUND, THE BLACK CAULDRON, THE SWAN PRINCESS) and Terry L. Noss, from a screenplay by Judy Rothman Rofe based on the book by E.B. White, the acclaimed author of such children's classics as CHARLOTTE'S WEB and STUART LITTLE. The film is produced by Lin Oliver and executive produced by Seldon O. Young. It is rated G by the MPAA and has a running time of 75 mins.
