ANGRY BIRDS creator Rovio Mobile has received $42 million in funding from Atomico Ventures, which is part owned by Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rovio plans to use the money to bring the popular mobile game to other mediums, including film and TV. Rovio recently signed a deal with Facebook to bring a version of the game to the social media site.

Niklas Hed, Jarno Vakevainen and Kim Diker founded Rovio in 2003 while they were still students.
