J.J. Abrams is circling a few new projects. VARIETY reports that Abrams is in negotiations to not only exec produce the pilot for UNDERCOVERS, but also direct it. The pilot is being produced by Warner Bros. for NBC. This would be the first TV episode Abrams has directed since the debut of LOST. NBC describes the series as a cross between MR. & MRS. SMITH and the BOURNE series.

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL says Abrams is working out a deal to produce a film based on Hasbro's new acquired toy line, MICRONAUTS. The figures debuted in Japan in 1974 as Microman. Mego Corp. brought the toy to the States in 1976 and kept producing them until 1980. Palisades Toys bought the rights in 2002. The toys entered the comic book world via a Marvel line in 1979. Since then, Image Comics and Devil's Due Publishing have both published MICRONAUT comics.
