With its new three-year first-look deal with Sony Pictures in place, Aardman Animation has announced its slate of animated features.

Writers Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah (LIFE ON MARS) will team with director Steve Box on the heist comedy, THE CAT BURGLARS. The feature follows a group of milk stealing stray cats and has been described as "family friendly Tarantino."

Aardman co-founder Peter Lord will direct an adaptation of Gideon Defoe's children's book series, PIRATES! Lord and Defoe are teaming with writers Andy Riley and Kevin Cecil (HYPERDRIVE, SLACKER CATS) on the script.

Peter Baynham (BORAT) is developing the Christmas-themed feature, OPERATION RUDOLPH. The action flick will reveal the military-like operation of Santa and his combat elves as the set out to make it around the globe in one night.

The final project is a new one for Nick Park, but details, other than it's not a WALLACE & GROMIT feature, have not been announced.
